Nobody much doubts now that global warming is happening; polar ice caps are melting; glaciers are receding; sea levels are rising and that excessive use of fossil fuels seems to be the cause of the problem. What is not agreed on is what we should do about it.
The Conservative Party are postponing promises to cut emissions until 2050 when they will be too old to care and are busy granting more oil drilling leases to any one who wants one. Just in case we run out of fuel.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party are rolling back their green plan to spend £28 billion on windmills and solar panels and insulation and even nuclear power. Just in case the cost of it spooks the voters.
The Last Laugh Looney Party, has, as you might expect, an altogether different approach. It’s free and it’s green and it won’t cost a bean🤡. From the day it is elected the LLLP will pass a law banning the use of central heating — for everyone except pensioners —- unless temperatures drop below zero. It’s what we all had to live with in the olden days !
This new LLLP green policy is expected to save 55 zillion kilowatts of energy and save people ££££ off their fuel bills. So the advice is to wrap up warm and buy yourself a nice woolly hat.
Three happy spin offs of this approach are :-
- Older people will get a lot more visits from relatives and friends seeking a warm welcome.
- Those people “working from home” will suddenly find going to work in the office much more attractive. Many of the unemployed may find work to keep warm.
- Children skiving off school will find a renewed interest in education in the warmth of a classroom.
Strange how a simple idea can change things for the better. Nett zero back on track at no extra cost😀. Household energy bills cut. Loneliness amongst older people significantly reduced😀Employment productivity increased😀. Unemployment reduced😀. Educational standards improved🤡

Whoops, were do we go from here, up the wall??? with the cuckoo clock and shout cuckoo cuckoo when the thoughts strike us in our moment of Alzheimer’s when we are recollecting out thoughts and ideas.

WELL, Well, what a post, I am in my mind thinking as best I can at 81 years, with maybe the onset of Alzheimer’s, dementia, forgetfulness, and just bloody mindedness, what are the LLLP on about? But there again I am a member of the Ragamuffin Society, a branch of the Long Last Looney Party { I may even have the title wrong? But never mind- this is a smiles and grumbles site!!! So I can witter on and on!}.
I am in my arm chair thinking of working from Home, and all I see is Mum, knitting furiously, with coloured wools, and engaging dad, or one of us kids to hold the fairisle pattern up while she counts the lines and the stiches, so she does not make a dogs breakfast of the pattern. The finished jumper was for one of us in the family. Am I in stiches over JOHN;s review of how green we can become, a warm house, clothing, jumpers, and lots of love-Plus that clip behind the earole from time to time!!!! Hee Heee!.
But hey in my wilder and saner moments in time, I review what Life has experienced me in!! A young boy at school learning about friendship, then cubs and scouts how to be responsible for ones’ self, and help others-BOB a JOB WEEKS at Easter- and then an apprenticeship [Mine a marine engineer cadet], and college and girls? WONDERFUL, THE ONLY WORDS OF WISDOM I REMEMBER FOR MY DAD WAS- Should you get a young lady into trouble, then you marry her, no question!! And Mum;s advice be careful!! And then life its self, dancing, studying for a life style after dad, a family, house/accommodation. I WAS One of 6 children 2 died- one in child birth, one with an infirmity at 9 months, and the eldest of 4 surviving children, me and 3 sisters, at home my father demanded I respected and looked after my sisters while we were out and about. This was critical advice as I entered my courting period and enjoying young ladies company.
GREEN AFFAIRS what is all this reminiscing to do with GREENERY , independence as a nation, and survival? I ask you, nothing but my feelings for the truth and commaradarie of my neighbours, and for leadership of an inspired person, or society democratically elected and lead by ideals and ideas, not wishy -washy feeling of what one may dream about, but based upon reality, and achievability.
THE Basis of being green and the monies to be invested wisely are and can be difficult, the future of transport, land sea and air-All electric??? Can we survive as an independent nation, where oh where does the infrastructure come from, can we all pass wind??? With sufficient belief in the idea that we are doing the right thing.
There again we are believing in gas and oil, and the oil/gas rich nations who have the cash, wish or appear to have the power to tell us all how to live our lives, and invoke to my mind not democracy but dictatorship?? We as human beings face some difficult decisions, and our younger members of society, have to lead us through the stepping stones of life as they see it? WE the old timers with dementia. Alzheimer’s etc can only vote in our moments of lucidity, and I trust the vote is not taken from us, and that the younger member of our society consider our thoughts and wishes, without rancour or bitterness, but with feelings of love and warmth.

I have just been for a walk into the national statistics office data, phew!!! lots of detailed information: However I was looking and found the average age of the UK Citizen, and it is 50 years, Just under. There again the ethnic population white (anglo -saxon} some 85%, No passing comment from me> However I was trying to establish a n age of life expectancy, and here the data disappears into all sorts of detail, which I could not fathom out.
Why my walk this morning, I was intrigued by the media and the facts of life? I did not do not appreciate some of the view points put forward in the media news/and popular programmes and Commercial TV the advertising phenomena of the ethnic population of the UK- However I now come to understand some of the misgivings in the social attitudes of our nation Great Britain. However I do ask with respect that the behaviour of our minority groups in all sections of our society come to respect and honour each other.
We depend upon each other, we need to guide our children, and our children to grow up earn a living and support the older ones in our societ:, I just trust I did the same task grow up, and that the older generation with my parents were grateful for the support I Offered.
We Reap what we sew??? YES???
