I’ve found another draw full of socks! Bringing my total sock collection to 67 pairs.
It’s time to look on excess socks as an opportunity to save the world.
If I wear a different pair every day throughout the rest of the winter there will be no need to wash them until the Spring when the weather is better. Then one big dolly tub wash and hang them on the line. No need for electricity. Probably saving 600 megawatts of energy 😀
Now in the Spring I could echo that with summer shirts of which I must have at least 55 including tee shirts. Ending in a harvest festival mass shirt wash in September. Followed by several lines of shirt drying and another mass of megawatts saved,
Now if I can just get mass sock and shirt washing to go viral we would be well on the way to nett zero !

what a year in ones minds eye from socks in spring to shirts in the autumn! Bah! Humbug! this site is full of ‘old foggies memories” and thinking while they dream the day away.
I have just dumped a pair of my favourite leather shoes with rubber soles to me comfortable and a friend to my visiting chiropodist a nest of missing inner soles, generator of foot problems that keep reoccurring? To me the visits to the cobblers have been unnecessary within the last 18 months : With my restricted walking patterns and the Joy of a comfortable fit, the alertness to a walking stoop My SOLES Of the soles are hardly worn, but hey ho! the uppers -leather need more attention, like me, the old fuddy duddy!!
As for my drawsERS ??? WELL well where are you looking in the drawers at the clean washing or in the laundry basket with my unclean clothes? Many a tale here, and may be a disaster or two? I am not as nimble as i used to be. for that timed from the urge to to the presentation time at the loo? OH Dear! too much information>. But at least my mind is clear and Dear JOHN and all his draws full of clothes, some old some new [Christmas/birthday presents like us all mentally and physically need a sort out? at the gentle age we are now.
One think is clear there is no fun or amusement these days in watching/listening to the media about British Politics, they are not even a good door to door salesman/woman selling the forthcoming general election, I cannot bring to mind the next leader of or even a political party to lead us for the next 5 years. It is not even a little bit of light within my mind? I just keep thinking of WESTMINISTER as a ‘LOONIE BIN’ for misfits of our society: and it is disturbing and a shame!
watch, look around, read and then hear and study the media!!!! What a task these days. I have with a colleague been studying form in the shape of JIG SAWS, some 500 pieces for a light mind set with intelligent and challenging with some 2000 to 3000 pieces, Then as we established our friendship a 6000 piece Jig saw, now framed with the story behind it, how all the residents of our retirement village join in actively, Wonderful.

I just wonder Budget day today? Is it to be 10p to the shilling or are we being offered 12 pennies to the shilling, with a story of how Brexit became our archaises heel? I just wonder who has the better story the Chancellor or the Prime Minister???

we have had it gobbledegook after careful thought a modern 10p piece is or was the old 2 shillings piece.? One is valued at 10 coins to the pound sterling, and one is valued at 20 coins to the pound sterling, bamboozled as I am i still just wonder at parliament today, and the governments budget? What do we oldies get from the budget, all parties are still at loggerheads, trying to work out an election manifesto, with lots of ‘promises-But all different- I am sorry are we not a nation of one people, with common goals, living and respecting each other, helping each other within our nation INCOME, balanced and easily understood. Not a promise too far and unreachable,
A penny now is worth in old currency 2p in old currency? where Oh! where! are the budgeteers coming from? A penny in old money was for the cost of a toilet cubicle visit, and the passing of detritus? Is that todays Budget conversation from parliament , all the parties represented in the ‘house of commons’.
