How many more glaciers need to melt before it becomes obvious to everyone that climate change is happening. Reaching nett zero carbon emissions by 2050 is the agreed target by most Nations. How to get there is not at all clear.
So in the Timeout two years the LLLP will halt production of electric vehicles until they can travel at least 500 miles with the heater, the headlights and the radio on. We will also drill for all the oil in the North Sea so we don’t have to import it from Saudi Arabia. The ‘ Just stop oil ‘ protesters will be glued to the central reservation of the M25 to remind us of how important it is to tackle climate change by 2050.
British politicians, all keen to jump on the bandwagon, rushed to be seen to be leading the World, by closing our last coal mines; switching to heat pumps that don’t heat; stop drilling new oil wells; building new nuclear power stations at a snail’s pace and telling people to buy expensive new electric cars before there is the infrastructure to power them. This is in spite of the fact that Britain only accounts for 4% of global emissions.
With a bit of luck if temperatures really have risen by 2050, we can all turn our central heating off and save a fortune by not installing new, expensive, useless heat pumps.
Finally, we can erect poly tunnels all over southern England and grow our own vegetables rather than importing them from around the world.
In the meantime, just in case the climate change scientists have got it all wrong, stock up on hot water bottles and candles !

my dear one, again what a read, and a mind stirring experience for this old ‘FART’ from the ‘Ragamuffin Society’ of the LLLP!!!
NOW then do you believe the earth is round? or ‘oval’ or even flat? WHA did you learn at school? should one be listening, or listening in those days to the radio, and radio 4-the font of al knowledge, not the light programme or radio luxenburg?
Now then the earth is roundish, spins on an axis [Vertical]? and this gives us night and day as we revolve around the sun-which takes us a year, The sun and earth relative to each other move vertically on a yearly basis, and give us the four seasons of the year-Spring/Summer/autumn, and winter.
Today we have scientists and all sorts of other persons who may study the universe and pronounce that the earth is getting hotter, for ‘REASONS’ caused by mankind’s behaviour, co2 gases and humans and cattle and animals ‘FARTING’ for a couple of reasons!! I politely ask you is this the true fact, or does one question there are too many humans on this planet, and hey are all the time squabbling and shaking fists at each other?? Now then to stir the pot one more time?
DO You personally have a religion??? does one believe in ‘GOD’ who or whom ever that may be? and is the earth’s vertical axis in relation to the sun tilting out of the perpendicular and causing the relationship of earth/sun to alter the climates and seasons to change slightly? I wonder?
But never mind all this deep thinking, we have not ‘GODS ‘ to think about, within the next 8 months but leaders, as we have a general election coming up in the United Kingdom, and one in AMERICA-We have had a Russian roulette election, do we go the same way and appoint our old nefarious candidates to lead us into a peaceful world, where we can then implement green thoughts and sprout new peaceful thinking for all of mankind?? As I ask, who or whom is your ‘GOD’.???
Remember the olden days? children’s tv ‘PUFF the Magic DRagon’ and all those wishes he could bring about? AS we approach ‘Easter’ and all those eggy affairs= Racing, rolling down hills, chocolate to be consumed by the mouthful, and christain thoughts to be undertook at Church, with lots of forgiveness,
Why all this? I just wonder what our politicians are going to do this Easter ??? Hatch eggs and plans? are they for all of us or just a section of the community, and is it all about hand outs to fractions of the community, not us all in general. We are at an average age of 50 years [according to the data], so that means we have as the older population to look after our younger generation, and encourage them to work, and take on the responsibilities of caring for the older persons. Immigration is a ‘RED Flag’ to a ‘BULL’ and while we appreciate the working immigrants those on support, and reasons of wishing to become British Citizens have to be considerate and compliant with the wishes of the British Peoples, The UK is not a holiday Camp for all and sundry, responsibility and loyalty has to be earned and respected.
As I say Easter Eggs are a thought and an ideological expression of ‘breaking into ‘NEW IDEAS’ and lifestyle??
I trust the Politicians will deliver a well thought out Message, as will the Archbishop of Canterbury, and other Christian church leaders, which will guide us to a rational choice, in November, when we have to select our government.
