The Albanian Solution.

For years now the NHS has been bedevilled with the problem of bed-blocking. Now, the issue is more acute than ever, with thousands of elderly people unable to be discharged, either to residential care homes due to staff shortages and high care home fees, or their homes because of a lack of home care support. The Government has declined to put a cap on care home fees even though this was recommended in the Dilnott Report way back in 2012, as an incentive to establish an insurance product for long-term care costs.

Today, the President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine said “ hospital crowding and bed-blocking are killing hundreds every week”. Strong stuff ! “13,000 patients are left stranded on wards, despite being fit to be discharged”. “ the log jam was fuelling long waits for ambulances”. “Rising 12 hour waits in A&E”. “Other delays to emergency care”. “ALL ESTIMATED TO BE CAUSING MORE THAN 500 DEATHS A WEEK”.

However, the Last Laugh Looney Party sees every problem as a potential opportunity. Free extended holidays in Albania for older people to recuperate after their illness. Supported by Albanian care staff on the Albanian minimum wage of 2Euros an hour. There are plenty of vacancies in hotels as most people are leaving the wonderful country of Albania for some inexplicable reason.

The UK state pension will more than cover their hotel stay and care support. For those wishing to stay longer the ExtraCare Charitable Trust is considering building a retirement village. For a few who may wish to come back to the UK, the Albanian tourist agency can arrange a luxury boat crossing over the Channel and a further stay in a hotel, paid for by the Home Office.

I am confused, perplexed, and I am unsure have to respond to the ironies of the situation, by the comments made.
I feel we need Politicians who are willing ,and can be willing and wishing to speak the truth and resultant actions with respect to the needy in Britain, not ”the unwashed and self appointed fleerers from their own countries of origin”.
I need something today to giggle about, and have a gasp-intake of fresh air as to ‘what is humour, and a quiet side ways glace at life today in this nation of ours!!!
Less of the serious and downright miserable stories of life which may emphasise the minority in our world nation? However the older generation have seen hardship before; what we need is a little light on the Joys of living, to share amongst us all.
Here endeth the lesson by a grumpy one???

Dear John!!! The title of a letter to a loved one! I trust we will communicate again: I miss your comments, and on this occasion, you have triggered my memory and I have read the past blogs highlighted by your self as previous reading material, and mental agility to understand the discussions at/in those times.
The ‘Ruffian’ Society to which I believe I belong too in the LOng Lost LOONIE Party, challenges me to answer you in a more polite and less perplexed manner.
The Political scene in WESTMINSTER, concerning all Political Parties, and the Governmental Political Party of TODAY, is too my mind, all in a confused state, and I go quietly back to my arm chair, and drift in my mind as to my thoughts over the past 20 years or so!!!
In 2002 I retired from my working life aged 60, and my self and my wife MOLLY looked at our own family-Parents in a care home, children married with teenage children, and us Molly and I in a family house which was our investment, and had become with the garden demanding upon our time-decorating and regular gardening, WE fore saw not the pleasures in life but the responsibilities both in time and financially! What were going to do????
As at the time the then Government/Parliament believed that in the next 50 years Britain would become a nation of older people, and were looking at research into housing for the elderly, and the need for the workforce-here the indications were upon the European Union and an immigration/integration with priority been given to workers, who could help with the economy of Britain.
Then along came into our personal lives the ”EXTRCARE Charities TRUST” and their concept of a retirement VILLAGE, with ‘DOMICILIARY CARE’, and a Director in the name of JOHN Graham, who patiently but with enthusiasm explained the philosophy of how one would have a living under EXTRACARE Staff within the Policies and beliefs of ‘THE EXTRACARE CHARITY of COVENTRY’, who had the experiences of running ‘CARE HOMES, and SCHEMES for the elderly and vulnerable citizens within the MIDLANDS and Northen districts of England.
Initially with the Extracare Vision of life in a retirement village, and Britain within the European Union the scene as I saw it in England/Britain was to my mind taking care of Our {Molly and My personal life] Beliefs.
Now we I come to the European Union, The political scene within Britain, the visions of freedom of workers within the EU, and access to the NHS, and immigration, with minimum restrictions caused political unrest within the UK-Britain. This resulted in ‘REFERENDA’ and the election vote for BRITEX!!! and the current todays unrest in the POLITICAL SCENE within the UK, with the domestic political parties and the break up Politically and English politics at a complete stalemate with the POlitical system in Wales , Scotland, and Northen Ireland, causing many discussions to take place.
    FOOTNOTE
SINCE 2002 we have had no practical government research into the following areas
1 the make up in age groups of the Uk Population in percentages, with the elderly and the working population figures highlighted over the next 10/20 years
2 the job/employment opportunities within the UK=Private and governmental
3 The shortages of skilled staff within the NHS-[nurses and doctors/consultants]
4 The annual benefit support to current pensioners
5 the total security budget to-
    a/ UK Nationals, and
b/ foreign nationals/immigrants legally here in the UK, and
c/ the cost of processing illegal immigrants for housing/health, and economic help.
    CONCLUSION
I personally would wish the true on these subjects and help to understand how we as an economic Nation go forward in the next 20 years? I wish the Parliamentarian’s to look at the Nation, with respect to defence and security, and prosperity, with consideration for welfare services [NHS/WELFARE and Economic benefits to the vulnerable within the nation, including the legal immigrants, and the ELDERLY British Citizens.]

  3. with respect to john’s bash about NHS BEDS and deaths, are we becoming the ‘silent society for the elderly’? I wonder? is it cheaper than a single ticket to Switzerland????
    another thought from that LLLP.

  4. Hey HO! RISHI and the government and Parliament, in these days of economic problems are having to reconsider the details OF ”BORIS” and that ”BREXIT” Vote that was taken at the 2019 ELECTION????
WE need grown ups in charge of the nation, not FLY BY NIGHTS and persons of shallow thinking and opportunity.
IF One is unsure Vote, Please vote for the ‘LAST LAUGH LOONIE Party, and its decisions to challenge the government/parliament of the ‘DAY’??

  5. I just wonder how you dear reader feel? The Rt.Hon MATT HANCOCK MP has been banished from the Jungle? I just wonder how he will perform with the associated cohorts in Westminster? can he perform as a respectable honourable member of parliament, leading and joining in , in intelligent government policies, or are we in for a ‘Jungle tucker” of intelligent conversation???
