Riski’s Climate Change Plan

On holiday in sunny California and visiting Disney, Riski had a sudden revelation about how to rebrand Britain in the light of climate change. It’s an idea that could restore the economy; solve the illegal migration crisis; put two fingers up to Europe AND win the next General Election for Riski.

All over Europe temperatures are rising dramatically, forest fires are burning and tourists are turning away from the holiday resorts around the Mediterranean.

Riski’s “Great Idea” is to rebrand Britain as the tourist capital of Europe. Our wetter maritime climate and only slightly warmer temperatures makes us the obvious alternative to the burned out islands of Greece or the hot hot hot spots of the Spanish, French and Italian riverias. The whole of continental Europe has become uncomfortably hot in the summer months and neither is there any snow in the winter ski resorts

From his previous success in cancelling HS2, (see the previous blog), the £100billion saving will be diverted to pay for flags, umbrellas, loungers, jet skis, paddle boards and most important of all …. New signs. All to upgrade our tourist towns.

To emphasise our new image as the Number 1, Numero Uno, holiday destination in Europe, all the UK coastal towns will have their names “enhanced” :-

  • Clacton will become Royal Clacton sur mer on the Costa del
  • Thames. It will host the Cannes film festival every year, which upset President Macaroon a bit. Maybe he should have made more effort to stop all those rubber dinghies leaving the Beaches at Calais.
  • Blackpool will be the new Paris of the North, with its Tower now called the Riski Tower. Camels and elephants will replace the donkeys for rides on the beach to give it more global appeal.
  • Barry Island will be renamed Taffymelinos on the Welsh Riviera. Tapas will be served with the fish and chips.
  • Roman holidays will be focussed on Bath which has reverted to its old name of “Bathominium”. Complete with the Riski Trevi fountain.
  • The Isle of White will in future be called the “Costa Blanco” and model itself on Monaco. It will be a tax haven for Russian oligarchs with big yachts and loads of dosh, which they can gamble away in the Riski Casino.
  • Liverpool now that it is much drier will be renamed “Liverpuddle”. It will become the permanent home of the Eurovision Song Contest, now that nobody wants to go to overheated Europe. The headline act each year will be the 90 year old supergroup — the Rolling Bones.
  • Edinburgh is already called “ the Athens of the North” so they will just need to recruit lots of men in frilly skirts and slippers to strut up and down Princess Street. They should fit in well with all the men in kilts.

There will be more good news to follow ………..

  1. gentlemen, back to the public toilets and the message on the walls, if one could reach that far up the wall, pointing peter at the message, and absorbing the innuendo? Did it not start ” KILLROY was HERE’, a most memorable wee=wee as we finished and wet our shoes, putting Peter away safely from prying eyes, as we left the Toilets to join the public crowd outside.
Now then!!!! what about our politicians, of all parties? do they ladies and gents belong to the ‘KILLROY’ society, and only appeal to each of us, when we need the LOO??? I wonder, remember the toilet paper is thinner, less pages per roll and more expensive, and ;WHITE’ in colour, as if one has surrendered to modern life, and more taxation. DISHI RISHI- kind sir what is your reply???

  2. going back to the days of the ‘NETTIE’ and the paper on the nail. Should one be light hearted and read the Star, or The Sun, triffle in the express and mail, now a days the ‘I’ for intelligencer, as as one contemplates ones navel, ‘THE THUNDERER’ [Times Newspaper], what ever it is all nail biting? Informative maybe? Entertaining certainly, and of course if one wishes on the nail, a collection of political party manifesto’s for shall we say education information, on how/who/why we should vote.

  3. Just a moment! Please dear reader. Darian today Aug. 14th, 2023 has posted on John;s Smiles and Grumble Under the TOPIC of Welsh Housing a comment, ‘quote A GOOD READ’- Unquote.
I was intrigued, and interested, and While it as a subject, has many a personal comment from me, I cannot get away from John;s view points of housing for the elderly.
I now personally at 80, are coming around to question my independence, and possible health well being, and While at the moment I am fit and well, I cannot ignore the day when I need support both mentally/physical and health care wise.
I find have to challenge my dreams of yesteryear, and my understanding of a ‘CAREHOME; as limited in the 90’s to maybe 60 beds/rooms and maybe a maximum of 80 to 90 residents? to a Retirement village of some 250/300 rooms and some 300/325 residents. With respect to the referred Topic Welsh Housing and the average age of the elderly in the UK being in the majority of the population, and living into a dotage, support within life is very important, and alzhmeirs/dementia, frailty/ mobility becoming a problem it is important that the day to day things one finds important such a s meeting fellow resident/friends of a similar age, and younger family friends and family members in known and familiar surroundings of the village reception/shop/restaurant/cafe, and foyer. It gives one confidence to remain ”INDEPENDENT” and a feeling of security, which with daily support-health and welfare, make life very enjoyable not a drudgery . The support system from the management and from the associated collective residents point of view may need adjustments, and understanding points of concern from each resident, and the staff management in general?? Thats life! Thats progress!!!
