On the eve of the local elections the Last Laugh Looney Party has a vote winner for elections in the future, including the General Election.
The idea came from thinking about the Local Authority elections that take place today. Who on earth do you vote for? Unless it’s the LLLP. Will it change anything? The answer is probably NO!
There are over 300 Local Authorities and all bar 38 are in debt!
- Why? Because they are living beyond their means.
- Why? Because Central government gives them responsibilities, but not the power to pay for them.
- Why? Because the majority of Authorities are run by Councillors who muddle their role with Party politics.
- Why? Because they don’t think outside the box!
So what’s the LLLP GREAT IDEA?
Well the two biggest problems for LA ‘s are their responsibility for looking after vulnerable old people and children. About 50% of their budget is spent on this and the need is growing all the time. What’s more, the service delivery is often not very good. Many vulnerable older people are lonely and isolated. Equally worrying are children at risk through poverty or lack of care and support.
The answer is LAUGHING GRANNIES and LOONEY GRANDPAS matched up with vulnerable children.
It sounds daft. It is daft. But it just might work!
The LAUGHING GRANNIES could provide chid care for young children and focus on improving social skills and reading and writing. Periodically the GRANNIES could get together with other GRANNIES and hold parties with lots of cakes and fizzy pop.
The LOONEY GRANDPA ‘s could look after the more boisterous children. They could take them on long walks in the country or on adventurous bus trips with their free bus passes. Or they could just go jumping in puddles🤡
The ultimate focus for the GRANNIES, GRANDPA’S and children is to have fun. All at minimal cost to the Local Authority. Just expenses for the cakes and pop.
Now then!!! It is election day. ll day please vote!!!! at ones local elections. No campaining is permitted to day as to whom, or who one prefers to vote for, It is I believe against the law.
How ever one can greet, chat and talk to the people outside the polling station, and exchange greetings. THE LLLP I note today they are promoting family invlovement, from the old codgers, grannies and grandpas, down to the younger children of our generation, the kids- the future voter, and the message simply put is behave and enjoy family life at all ages, ”OLD and young”.
The Mums and dads and are hard working people can we help, the answer is yes, and while we as codgers have a vote, please it is you the Mums and DADS who have also to live with the consquences of how one votes. THE LLLP believe in families and support for all age groups, you the working mums and dads have to decide how this is achieved, to bring happiness and security to our nation, or in the case of a local election-” THIS NEIGHBOURHOOD”
Please be responsible and vote!!!!
Well I trust you all exercised ones vote? But Hey! are you now witing for the rubbish mem/ladies to take away all the trash? The media are all excited, reviewing our votes on mass, and now predicting the outcome , possibly of the 2024 general election in the UK. What a garbbled story: No good clear messages containing- security/ welfare/ lawfullness, and the green factors?? What am i babbling on about, I am worse than todays politicians, full of wind and detritous, I am really looking for, common sense, a well balnaced set of policies, with respect personally for each of us, which every sociatial group we elected to be in- Can we all get along together, with peace, respect and an understanding and abiding of the nations laws????
I certainly hope so, so here come NOVEMBER 2024 and a UK general election!!! Yipee!!!!
correction. waiting and men
I just wonder what you chas/ladies are doing right now, and whatare you anticipating??
I have May the 1st, Danced round the maypole-Maybe metophically? I have read about happy people in the media when I can find it!! As a Grandpa I just wish pleasantries and respect, not the bitching diatribe that the media are reporting alledgedly is happening in the UK Policial scene? But there again are we all ‘gay’ with some queer ideas.. ? I wonder?
I note we are approaching ‘Mothers day’ One more time to think dearly of our mothers. grandmothers, and how then taught us to behave within a family. My mum is with her ‘maker’ However I still think of her and our relationships as a family!! We where asked to show love and respect for our nearest and dearest, and our friends and aquaintances. Our enimies we if we had one, we where asked to defend ourselves and our thoughts, not with bitterness, but understanding, and to show lienency to help them understand us, and our viewpoints, in all aspects of life…
chaps not chas
forget all this housework, and rubbish in the media, and the political mayhem in this modern world!! Today is our ‘SPRING Fair” home made products and gift wear made by our villagers in Lovat Fields, and a few otsiders selling sweeties of a home made variety, all novel. A Day to enjoy, chat and just reminice about our own life histories, wonderful.
PS Who Will I vote For??? GOD In ALL His creaction, with my key at the golden gate, ready to chat the hind legs off St. Peter!
At the bistro bar, mine is a half pint of lager: Not enough to get drunk on, but sufficient to bring back the taste of a lovely Beer, LIke ‘TETLEYS or Magnet, or even ‘DOOMBAR, and what thoughts that name conjures up?? Not all ”DOOM But Pleasure’!!!
By the way John is it not the time of the year for your Birthday?? Happy Birthday, and best wishes to MO, not forgetting your 4 legged friens if she is still around.
Regards and best wishes from Molly and David.
Good evening, this wenesday, I am gently reflecting on the political view points now starting to be shared, since the local elections for the forthcoming general election autumn 2024.
I note the stress appears to be upon benifits to the population, monetary, and health care -mental-.
Questions are being asked about the working population, and their definition of support. An emotional and difficult subject. As an elderly voter 75+ my mental ability, and mobility is not as free as the younger population.. What I ask is how much do as I age into my 80,s. Are the population, and are we the majority of Uk Voters 75+ age group, and are we in fact voting for our selves, and yet we have to finance our lifestyles in the form of support, or do we have in the UK/England a majority age group of possible voter between 18 and 75+, such that they are concerned with the well being of the nation, with its world standing/defence and finance, and physically/mentally and monetary are able to contribute to?
Or is it the 75+ year olds and their savings for life and support and wellbeing who having earned their pension rights are being asked again to provide for the working population? Other than by a simple vote to share the future dreams of the Nation UK/Enland/Wales /Scotland, and N Ireland-Including the IOMann and the channel isles.
Am I dreaming too much. I just wonder.
