Milly has been the star of my pill blogs in the past. Like a lot of older people she has several chronic health conditions and consequently takes a variety of different pills. On average the elderly take 5 pills a dayπππππ

The aging of the UK population means that the use of pills, free on prescription, will rise dramatically in the years ahead.
In England alone in 2024/25 1.26 billion items were dispensed at a cost of Β£11.2 billion. Good news for the drug companies, not so good for the tax payers.
The volume of drugs prescribed has been increasing year on year by about 4% and the cost of items increased by about 2%. Thatβ a tidal wave surging over the NHS in the years ahead.
PILLS. It takes e back to schoo;-Harrogate Secondary Teschnival school [13-16], and FRED out PE and sports teacher. Fhe school was in the town centre- no sports palying fields, so for our football games period we had to walk in football gear to Harrogate stray, and play on the open grasland. Now FRED would pass oit the PILLS- FOOTBALLS, and ask us kids to carry them to the stray. SO you see your mention Fear JOHM Of Pillsl to me a FRED and footballs??? Memories.
Like most elederly persons I am on pills and potions as aresult of earlier ailments in Life, and the balance of LIFE one has to be aware off. Now retired I rely on the goodwill of The NHS prescription sevice, and the keeping in check any excessive ayments for the pills.
Today and possibly tomorrow the way the governemnt is giding hr=ealth care for the retired it maybe a referally to private care.treatment, and the actual costs of any drugs after treatment to ones purse? It could become a nightmare.
please excuse my typagraphical erors I apologise

What a read into days daily Mail, Budget promises, and then the green issues, and the adverse comments on the Drax.s Power station burning waste and all that timber/wood?
As a younger man studying thermodynamic engineering, and the efficiencies that were given to all thermal generated power. I studied coal/oil/gas/water as a basic fuel to generate efficient energy..
WE as a nation are lost in thoughtless and all the green policy that are been broadcast,
Carbon Di oxide is the result of combustion, efficiently, and green trees are the absorber of CO2. Now we burn the trees and trust that the resultant CO2 is produced in less quantities, Not necessarily efficiently. WE are a confused world.
WE are asked to generate electricity as a basic power, who we store it and use it economically is another problem, We also are being challenged as to to βHow to Get Rid of our waste?β One of the overall health problems is to incinerate the rubbish/food waste/plastics.
It all comes down to our consumption of energy, do we heat to cook. Heat/warmth in our accommodation, lighting in the evening. It is a nightmare of thought. WE need a worldwide social research programme to advise all the nations of this world what would be an acceptable energy programme. Will our world end???? Only our actions can decide this within reason and preserve all forms of life as we understand it.
I am confused, and require some adult/educated practical solution, as I just wonder what we, one would do about travel/transport Air sea and Land, what maybe the solution.
Does the LLLP have any ideas?? I just wonder? As I crown my throne, and take a deep breath or Two.
