Tulip Time

There was a time when tulips made the economy boom. Sadly it’s not so simple these days. Now they just bloom not boom.

Just a glimpse of showy colour.

Or a flash of white.

Or maybe both.

Or the rarest black.

Each one bringing a smile, but not the financial riches of the past.

At the same time a free display of natural beauty from the bluebells

  1. what a ‘bloomig time?; Memories Easter sunshine and tulips take me back to my school days,, when on school holiday s i would travel with my dad who was a commercial traveller, covering NOTHUMBERLAND/DURHAM/YORKSHIRE/NOTTINGHAMSHIE and Lincolnshire.

AT easter Dad may visit his contacts in Lincolnshire, and we would call in at the garden centres and admire all the spring/easter flowers, especially the TULIPS and the imports from HOLAND, – lots of colour, sweet smells and an eyfull to behold.

    Wonderful,

Now in my old age I just have tese memories and dreams, however they are all brought back to life, asI refllect in the mirror, what a simple bunch of flowers can bring to me? My travel in my carer as a merchant seaman, and docking in rotterdam,, and my younger days with dad to the Lincolnshire fkower farms, Great!!!
